The Marx Brothers are the only comedies included on the list as far as we're concerned so enjoy the break from realism and melodrama--these guys are brilliant.
Though Duck Soup is generally regarded as their best, A Night at the Opera or maybe Animal Crackers or Horse Feathers would be my favorite. It is true that Groucho has some of the best quotes in comedy history but, for my money, Chico is the glue to the act. He carries all of their movies (I've seen 12 of their 14 movies). I love the state room scene and of course Chico's line "He has insomnia, he's trying to sleep it off." They are my favorite comedy act with the Shempfilled Three Stooges coming next. Yes you have to deal with some musical numbers but it is worth it. A key moment is the contract tearing scene. If the sanity clause line doesn't make you laugh, someone should put you six feet under because you are already dead on the inside.
